Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny. C.S. Lewis
It is so vital to help humankind right now by providing real solutions that people need, want, and can use. Gone are the days of negative, fearful branding famously used in political advertising. Global and local businesses are providing positive, uplifting messages to raise consciousness, awareness, solutions, and moods.
Now is a great time to take a look at your own marketing and branding messaging. Does it provide people with a solution to what is going on in their lives at this minute? What voice are you taking on when communicating your company’s brand and message - expert, educator, or entertainer? If you are the expert in your field, then your messages should be informing? As an educator, this is an excellent opportunity to teach the masses about a subject. Is your gift in entertainment? Then use it to lighten the mood in the room or on a social media platform.
Doing It Right!
I’ve been witnessing some incredible impressive messages each day. Check out these businesses that are marketing their products and services as the solution to your problem. Here are some examples to stir your creative juices and get your mind thinking about how to position you and your business..
eBay
With remote offices taking off and gyms closing around the United States, eBay jumped on their advertising with this post, offering a solution for home offices and workout gear to get the job done.
soho sushi
One of my favorite Tampa sushi restaurants is soho sushi, and they just came out with an eblast with trending news. They are now offering The Brady Roll in honor of Tom Brady signing on with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No fear here in their advertising – only optimism about our future team!
Arts Council of Tampa and Hillsborough
Local artists are suffering, and the Arts Council of Tampa and Hillsborough put out a survey to find out what their demographic actually need right now instead of guessing. They asked what type of economic loss is occurring so they can do something about it reporting numbers, etc. Here is a sample of the email they sent out.
St. Petersburg College
While people are at home and considering their next move, St. Petersburg College suggested taking an online class at a 50% savings. Are you trying to get a degree for your career? They are the solution for you and cutting the cost in half.
Working Women of Tampa Bay
I belong to an amazing organization for women called Working Women of Tampa Bay founded and ran by Jessica Rivelli. For the past ten years, they have offered valuable in-person conferences, meetings, luncheons, retreats, networking opportunities, and training. They literally flipped a switch in one week and are now offering all of their events on a Zoom interactive platform to attend. They just taught a Zoom Workshop on Surviving and Thriving During Unsettling Times. If you want to learn more about LinkedIn, check out Liz Lopez’s class “LinkedIn 1010 for the New Decade”. Check the group out. Non-members can attend the events. I am proud to say that I have held several workshops for them teaching marketing. Tell Jessica, I sent you!
CanvasOnSale
I am not allowed to purchase any more canvas photography to display around my home per my family. I’m such a big fan, and CanvasOnSale is a service that I love to use. The company has combined two positive messages by discounting the service 75% off to support American workers and a product on "How to keep kids entertained at home." Putting your child's drawing on a pillow is a beautiful positive memory you can make together.
Etsy
Here is an email from Etsy offering to help out their community. Etsy will invest $5,000,000 over the next month to drive sustained business for sellers. They will also provide a one month grace period to any seller who needs extra time paying their bills.
Green Market Cafe
Another one of my favorite places to eat is the Green Market Café in Oldsmar and Clearwater. They are making it easier for families with half-off family size bowls seven days a week to serve up to six family members. They are offering curbside service too that falls within Florida’s request to close dine-in restaurants. Not only is Green Market Cafe offering healthy meals, but they are discounting it and making large family size bowls to feed the family economically. They got the message and are a solution to families that need help.
Their message is, "we have added family size bowls to our half-off bowls promotion from 3-6:30 PM seven days a week. Family size bowls serve up to six family members. You can request for them to be hot or cold for reheating later. Click below to order & request our new curbside service”.
AARP
AARP has always positioned its business as the Expert or Authority on aging. They put out a letter to their demographics 50-plus community with steps to take, resources, and other positive information to help their community.
Lucky Vitamin
Lucky Vitamin covered a bunch of the hot buttons in this positive cheery header:
- productivity tips
- avoiding sickness
- home detoxing
