As we move into 2019, I am once again reminded that change is good and necessary for growth. I seem to be the queen of re-inventing myself over and over again both professionally and personally. Transformation is another word for re-inventing yourself. At the end of 2018, I took a huge leap of faith and resigned from a “job” of 4-1/2 years that was no longer in sync with my purpose and goals. The synchronistic signs were very clear that it was time to step back into my own business full-time. So once again, I am transforming myself with a new identity, purpose, goals and energy to go in a different direction. Synchronicity along the way either points you to or validates your directions and choices and is a wonderful part of the joys of life.
Synchronicity
Synchronicity is a term that is frequently used to represent the process of experiences coming together and forming some sort of meaning. It is a meaningful coincidence coined by Carl Jung in the 1920s. Or as my close friend, Julie Starke has taught me, it is the “Hansel and Gretal-ing” of life or bread crumps to follow.
Transformation
I encourage you to take a look at your life. Listen for a “voice” urging you to make changes. See if there are any synchronistic signs giving you hints or advice.
Take a look at areas listed below for suggestions to get “unstuck”, change/ eliminate the negativity, or flow easier to bring you more happiness, joy, love, and energy.
Home
Locate a room or closet in your home that you need to organize and purge. It feels so good when you are done! Such a sense of accomplishment. Transform a room that isn’t working anymore and repurpose it for that new purpose. Or, on a bigger scale, do you LOVE where you are living? If not, make a change with your address? Make a list of to do items to make it happen. Enlist people’s help to show you the way or figure out how to move forward with a new goal. Don’t stay stuck in your existing or continuing situation.
Relationships
Do you have any toxic people in your life? Determine who they are. It won’t be hard to figure that one out. Who is draining the life out of you? Start putting up some healthy boundaries. Decide if you need to completely eliminate those toxic people around you. It isn’t easy but it is well worth it. I took some major steps last year to put up boundaries in several situations. I now have room to bring in new healthier relationships that bring positive energy and joy in my life.
If you have become isolated, look for opportunities to say yes to new groups, friendships, classes, etc. Unfortunately, with the internet and social media, human beings are getting really good at communicating online, creating a false sense of connection and they are becoming more and more isolated. Isolation brings fear, depression, unhappiness, etc.
Having solid supportive friends is so important to your well-being. I am grateful for my beautiful loving friends. Having an identical twin sister that is ALWAYS there for you is really special too. She is my angel on earth.
Collaboration
As a creative person, I have a huge need to partner and collaborate with exciting, innovative people that are engaging and energizing. They stimulate me to move and grow.
I am extremely excited about the creative and exciting collaborations that I’ve joined with in 2018:
Lisa Rivers (www.Lisa-Rivers.com) is an amazing woman so connected with spirit. She has so many gifts and has stepped out in her purpose and has asked me to support her. She is an ideal client that appreciates me and we are in sync with her goals to move forward.
Shari A. Hembree, Author of Journey of the Lightworker, and I have collaborated twice at the end of 2018 to create incredibly creative photo shoots. She is getting ready to release her book and is preparing a social media campaign with inspirational messages placed on the photography we crafted together. I am so blessed to have received this referral from Lisa Rivers and for the opportunity to stretch our playful imaginations with hundreds of unique expressive photos.

Jeff Smith (www.hookedmarketing.net) has become my partner in business and we support each other and our clients. I am grateful for his knowledge in the website, SEO world.
Last year, I connected with a mentor, Dr. Maria Limardo, who is a Ph.D. Genetics Doctor from Venezuela and she teaches a course “Certified Medical Intuitive Practitioner” which I am hopeful to take soon. She is a gift!
Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP) – I was blessed to attend the Annual Conference last year by my long-time soul partner Amy Frost and am now connected with an amazing group of trained healers throughout the world. I joined ACEP and have participated with the Humanitarian Committee with fascinating people making earth a better place to live. They have a collective goal to support humans to relieve emotional stress and trauma with energy psychology tools. Ulf Sandstrom and Gunilla Hamne with Peaceful Heart Network introduced TTT – Trauma Tapping Technique and use it at refugee camps around the world. They now have an app for your phone.
Grow
Identify a skill you need to learn or grow. Is there something that is preventing you from moving forward or causing frustration? Do you need to learn a computer software? Get on social media to communicate with your family, friends or business prospects. Research and learn. “Google” has a lot of answers – written or YouTube videos for free of “how tos” on almost any subject. Stretch your knowledge.
My lovely daughters gave me an Instant Pot and a Suvee for Christmas. I’m researching new recipes. Our family is having more fun cooking dinner as a group and inventing some new meals.
Invest in Yourself
As you are transforming yourself, don’t forget about a very important part - self-care. Self-care can mean different things to different people. Just pick one or two items and get started. Does that mean eating cleaner, moving your body a little more, get an annual check-up that you’ve been postponing for years, be more social, play with your grandkids more, etc.?
If things are really out of whack, find a good therapist, coach, mastermind group to help you find which way is up and take simple steps to getting to a good place? First place is to get conscious that things aren’t working and you need to just admit that. Then, you start looking at places to implement change. Baby steps will make it easier to handle and to see if you are getting positive results from the changes.
Connect
Look around. How can you connect with the world? What voice do you have for your purpose(s)? Are you being heard? Make a difference.
For me I decided to start writing a blog to inspire others and pass my torch of knowledge that I’ve acquired over many, many decades of living and business. Hence, this is my first blog.
Volunteer your time where you light up with energy and joy. Meet up with other moms if that is your purpose in life right now. If you are starting a business or re-engaging, join a like-minded network? I am excited to be joining Women without Limits this week and a special thanks to my friend Sharon Smith (Health and Wellness Consultant) who invited me. It is a business networking group in Tarpon Springs near my home that meet weekly with 32 women in different industries.
Business
We always need to be conscious of what stage our business is in and continue to grow it. There are so many methods to accomplish this. As I step back into my own business full-time, I decided to immediately offer a workshop that will help other business owners, entrepreneurs and practitioners. I also reached out to organizations that needed a guest speaker to their networks. This will give me exposure to larger networks for prospects.
I’ve been a photographer for many decades specializing in portraits. In my current home, I would have to put up my backdrop and lights each time I had a client and it was time consuming. My wonderful loving husband helped me transform an extra guest bedroom in our home into a dedicated full-time studio now so I can take portraits in a moment’s notice. He even got researched and got me some upgraded equipment and lights for Christmas. Now I’m very proud of my studio!
Watch for the synchronistic opportunities and signs in front of you. When you see one, just say yes.
Get involved in a mastermind, coach, or take a course in a field that you need improvement. A mentor and old boss of mine said “if you learn just one thing, it is worth your time”.
Creativity
Being creative and getting lost making artwork is a passion for me. I love so many mediums. Another blessing came my way in 2018, when two close girlfriends moved from Virginia Beach to Tampa Bay and we re-united in a soul purpose of having fun creating artwork once a month. Julie Armstrong and Katee Morales are such gifts to me as we meet at least once a month to create art in different mediums. We lovingly call our time together “art therapy”. I also reached out and took a class at Safety Harbor Art & Music Center SHAMC and created a mosaic mermaid.
My stepson has always been creative. His elementary school Principal used to hang his artwork in his own office. At 31 years, he is now becoming a photographer. He is taking photos with a used camera and processing film on an old MacBook Pro with Adobe Creative Suite. He is so excited and driven to learn. His passion is infectious. We are able to talk the same language and teach each other about “photo world” as I call it.
I hope that you enjoyed reading about my transformation over the past year and it helps you to transform just ONE thing in your life. Embrace the synchronicity of life!
